The Light Within the Heart\'s Desire
She is nothing like you would expect.
For me to look that way and dare dream it could be real,
to wonder what defining moment holds the truth.
She walks with such elegance, robed in Light,
and when she speaks, her words are absolute and pure.
Will she ever notice me, the one who lags behind?
What shall she see? Only foam left behind
a fractured vessel guided by the waves. Expect
no sense, no direction, nothing pure,
no essence, nothing whole, and nothing real.
A little boy, unrefined, who hides from Light,
behaving so uncouth, a stranger to the truth.
I hear a voice, its tone a siren’s truth,
a song that pulls me from the shore behind.
Behold, verily I have been prepared in Light
just for you, beyond all you expect.
For if you are found worthy, all is made real;
you’ll be entitled to learn the truth, what’s pure.
But sacrifice must be made, the offering pure,
for you are not ready yet to pass into the truth.
Bow now and offer up, so all that’s real
in your soul can forever last, the rest behind.
No eternal scars. Not the ending I’d expect.
I must expel the pain and step toward the Light.
For she calls me out of the Light,
toward a place unknown, a euphoria pure,
my body elevating more than I’d expect.
I give it up. I do promise and swear the truth:
should I answer, the world is left behind.
Just let me inside your Self. Let this be real.
Mine plus yours equal something pure and real,
a terrestrial mind can’t fathom all its Light.
Arms wrap me up, the old self left behind.
She found me weeping. Her nature, gentle, pure,
nurtured me back to where rivers flow beneath the truth.
I shall be tormented no more. She’s nothing you’d expect.
I walk the valley. In the shallowest breath, made real, my sacrifice is pure,
to let me go forth to the Light, where I won’t go back. They’ll fail to grasp the truth
sub specie aeternitatis, the world behind. She’s nothing like you would ever expect.

What is that Little Girl?
PoetHiram Bird
I really like this poem. I especially enjoyed the final stanza. I wonder who "she" is. Our Lady, Mother Mary, perhaps? Lovely. Thank you for sharing.
