The Lonely Being

I appear to be listening,
But I don't hear a sound.
How long is this wait
Until my life turns back around?

I cannot wait,
For the dark to swallow me whole.
I want to close my eyes,
And let it devour my soul.

Just a smidge bit longer.
Then I am finally free.
I pray that The Lonely Being
Will come to dance with me.

Its presence is always welcome,
Along with it's sad thoughts.
I wish I didn't have to leave The Lonely Being,
But I know it's no ones fault.

Being alone is quite comforting,
Because I don't feel the need to try.
I can slip away and let myself go,
As I manage to release a long sigh.
