The Meadow Tree
Threw the meadow trees I see you smiling at me
I stand and wait to hear you call for me
no sound not even a whisper comes towards me
I stand in silence waiting to see if you are here with me
I wait till night fall just to hear you say my name
but nothing but owls whooping in the rain
as the rain falls and silence is near I sit waiting desperately
for you to call for me.
Nothing but lonesome silence is near
I walk away and see you close by and realize
you were nothing but a lil meadow tree in the distance
I walk away with my head hung low
I look up and see a bright white glow
for it was raining and now there is snow and I
wonder if there is any chance that its you in the snow
I open my eyes to look closely and to my surprise
its only me alone sitting under this meadow tree
I had fallen asleep and dreamed it all but as I look up
and see you were always with me under the meadow tree
we both had been sitting there resting as for the walk was long
and rested until it was time to go
we both had fallen asleep and had the same dream
and thought we had seen one another threw the meadow tree
we walk on home and sit on are porch and watch the sunrise
and hold hands as the time passes by.
We go inside and lay down as it is time for bed
neither one of us wake up for are time had come
to move on to the meadow tree in the Beyond.
