The Moon Maid

The moon reflected in your eyes id say, is more blinding than the sun
the silver shimmers light the way, and your smile is so much fun
but the part of me in ecstacy, a falsehood within lies
my happiness, a broken wing, a bird that never flies
my sorrow hovers gently, he offers me duress
and his friend, a hooded figure, is death, a sweet caress
no fair words could i say, no melody be sung
before my broken heart runs cold, and sad, my head is hung
a lifetime full of loneliness, but in my head alone
will one day take the light from me, and turn my soul to stone
