The Moon\'s Path
The moon ushers in a translucent pathAs I float across a sleeping ocean in a makeshift raft
Sharks encircle with an evil keel temperament
Whales bellow in sonorous tones
The air feels frighteningly frigid
My teeth chatter sounds of fatigue
Water from the bottle is nearly drained
Crumbs are sparse
Stranded for nearly a decade
I escaped a voiceless island and an empty life
Took by sea to reacquaint with the human race
May my friends remember me, and family embrace me
A dire death may come by morning
But still, I drift towards the moon
On a lighted path of sheer and relentless hope
Key Words : moon, hope
