The Pale Maiden

Once upon a time, in a land not far away,
within a stony sepulcher, a sleeping maiden lay.
swabbed in garb of green and blue, her hair as black as night
her skin a pale hue, a meloncholy sight.
when her eyes had shut, with no more light to give,
the village laid her body down, and thought she did not live.
but when the garish burning sun had cast its final light,
the maiden's eyes would open wide, and she's ascend into the night.
