The Truth Is Just as Good as a Lie

Getting taken from my home
Not knowing
Not seeing
Not hearing
Not being
Feeling nothing but pain
Through this experience
Just an experience

I tell myself,
“It will be over soon”
I lie to myself,
“You will escape”

The truth is very different from the lies
But when has the truth been truly true?

“You can do anything,”
They say to you
“This darkness will leave,”
They lie to you

Never leaving, so why believe?
A lie is just as good as
The
truth
is
just
as
good
as
a
lie
