The unsung Hero

By Daiah

Melodies with catchy lyrics, symphonies with heavy themes, tones that flow in a wordless stream, Music is proof that Magic exists.
When I do not know what to say but understand what I feel, songs have a way of sorting through mucky emotions.
You see headphones I see a safe zone.
You see a distraction I see an escape not from reality but from myself.
Firefighters put out fires, Doctors medicate conditions, teachers educate children, the list of people making a positive difference is almost endless.
But if I had to choose a noble profession without fear of societies expectations. I would be musician.
Then I would create, something that would help make the inferno of life bearable for someone else, give them the courage to face the wounds drugs can't heal and remind them that they will be days when things make no sense but thats okay.
To those of you who; write songs on the nights you can't sleep, hit keys so many times that your knuckles feel weak and sing on the days you fail to speak. You are heroes too cool for comics or marvel, for kids like me.
