This Is Not Another Love Poem

This is not another love poem,
And I'm not going to write about
the bridge of her nose and
I'm not going to write about
how that bridge connects me to
an unbelievable and beautiful world.

This is not another love poem,
And I'm not going to write about
her hands and
I'm not going to write about
how those two palms and ten fingers
calm the raging sea inside of me.

This is not another love poem,
And that was not a biblical reference.
I'm not going to write about
her being a goddess and
I'm not going to write about
my uncontrollable desire to
follow her around the world as if
I were the 13th disciple.
