To This Day
It started with a secret.
Words are spoken
Screams are whispered
When you know you could never see her again
It breaks you
Every night knowing what she was doing
Not knowing if you’d see her again
You crack under the pressure
They find you, cracked, broken
And a dam of words breaks
A river of words flows like a flash flood
Everything falls apart
When you know your on your way to ruin her life
Break her trust
Your soul breaks
The way they look at your on your way to spill her secret
The one she most trusted
When you tell the ones she didn’t want to know
You snap
You are under water
Struggling to breathe
Fighting the current
You fall apart in front of her
She forgives you and brings you close
When you are shown the reason you cracked
The reason you cried yourself to sleep every night
THE REASON YOU MAY HAVE NEVER SEEN YOUR BEST FRIEND EVER AGAIN
You fall to pieces
When you see the marks on her wrist
You plummet into a canyon
A canyon of tears
A canyon of death
A canyon of chains
Nothing was never the same
You never look at her the same
She never looks at you the same
Things have changed
To this day
Although you know the shards are gone
And she’s safe from penetrating her wrist
You still wonder at night
When you cry yourself to sleep
If you will ever see her again
Words are spoken
Screams are whispered
When you know you could never see her again
It breaks you
Every night knowing what she was doing
Not knowing if you’d see her again
You crack under the pressure
They find you, cracked, broken
And a dam of words breaks
A river of words flows like a flash flood
