Unrevealed Beauty

Her dress, green with envy
It was simply elegant
The way her complexion complemented the shaded forest
Unaware of its rarity

Her lips, red with passion
They spoke only of honesty
The way she pronounced each word with genuine truth
Whispered the unfairness

Her eyes, hued with golden tints
They blinked unknowingly
The way they perfectly paired with her brunette strands
Oblivious of their vibrancy

Her figure deserved more
Further knowledge of her irresistible features
She wanted reassurance by her overwhelming heart
Like a song on repeat that you never get sick of
She needed a sense of security locked within

Her dress might have been pretty
And her lips might have been full
Her eyes might have been intriguing
But her inner beauty was unrevealed

This Poems Story

Unrevealed Beauty is something I wrote about my own insecurities and envious behavior. I have struggled with my body image for the entirety of my life, and I constantly need reassurance. In addition, I tend to long for what others have and I am blind to my own gorgeous features. This piece of poetry is meant to inspire others to dig deep within themselves and find their inner beauty.
