Wanderlust

We ride through the darkness feeling the chill
No borders nor boundaries can close us in
We ride on forever, just for the thrill

We reach to grasp stars with arrogant will
And laugh as the tremors rake over our skin
We ride through the darkness, feeling the chill

Only guided by instinct, holstering skill
Knowing not if we'll return again
We ride on forever, just for the thrill

Those in their houses, asleep, remain still
Fear of the unknown closing them in
As we ride through the darkness, feeling the chill

And in the light of day, do they awake unfulfilled?
Enclosed by four walls and bombarded by din
As we ride on forever, just for the thrill

The journey unending, we shall ride on still
Missed by companions and mourned by our kin
We ride through the darkness, feeling the chill
We ride on forever, just for the thrill
