We Three
Today I stumbled across an old photograph. One of just us and you.
I smiled as I thought about all the things we use to do.
Then my smile faded, as tears fell from my face. It occurred to me that was the last we’d have of you, with no new ones to take its place.
We use to get into so much mischief.
My what wonderful times we had.
When we would play forever, or til one of us got mad.
I could almost hear our laughter.
I could can recall the smallest things.
How we would play together.
How we would dance and sing.
I can tell so many stories.
Yet, I have no one to validate their truth. They are now just my memories, that I have of you.
You will not be forgotten.
We will always speak your name. Pictures and writings serve as a reminder. Even though it’s not the same.
We will tell our children of our grand adventures.
Two sisters and their brother. How we would come home injured, and scared our poor mother.
Or how we’d stick together. Through all the thick and the thin. We three siblings were a force to be reckoned with.
One day we three will be reunited. We will stand together strong. As long as we can continue to simply fight to carry on.
It’s difficult without you. Our pod has one less pea. But I will hold up our sister & she will hold up me.
Then once we both cross over, there we three will be again. Not only united as siblings, but bonded as best friends.

This Poems Story
I am the oldest of the three. Then my brother was stuck between the two of us girls. He always felt he had to be our protector. He was certainly our personal super hero, who we thought could do it all. One day he was taken from us in a car accident. So we are left here trying to figure out a life without him, a life where we feel parted and alone now. Broken & damaged trying to hang onto even the smallest of things.
