When You Went Up, You Left Me Down
“When You Went Up, You Left Me Down”
I stayed with you when you were broke,
when life was heavy, when hope was thin.
I held you up through every storm,
even when I had nothing left within.
I watched you struggle, watched you fall,
and still I never walked away.
I gave you strength you didn’t have,
I loved you through your darkest days.
I was there when you were helpless,
when the world felt cold and unkind.
I carried weight that wasn’t mine,
I left my own needs far behind.
But when you finally came up,
when life got good, when you found your ground—
you didn’t reach back for my hand,
you didn’t lift me when you found your crown.
You went up alone,
left me standing in the place
where I once held you together
with nothing but my heart and grace.
You forgot the girl who stayed
when you had nothing to your name.
You forgot the one who loved you
before the money, before the fame.
And that’s a different kind of heartbreak—
not the kind that screams or cries,
but the kind that whispers quietly,
“He left you the moment he could rise.”
I didn’t want your riches,
I didn’t want your throne.
I just wanted you to remember
I never let you walk alone.
But you climbed without looking back,
and that truth cuts deeper than any lie.
Because I stayed through your lowest lows…
and you left me in mine
without even saying goodbye.
I stayed with you when you were broke,
when life was heavy, when hope was thin.
I held you up through every storm,
even when I had nothing left within.
I watched you struggle, watched you fall,
and still I never walked away.
I gave you strength you didn’t have,
I loved you through your darkest days.
I was there when you were helpless,
when the world felt cold and unkind.
I carried weight that wasn’t mine,
I left my own needs far behind.
But when you finally came up,
when life got good, when you found your ground—
you didn’t reach back for my hand,
you didn’t lift me when you found your crown.
You went up alone,
left me standing in the place
where I once held you together
with nothing but my heart and grace.
You forgot the girl who stayed
when you had nothing to your name.
You forgot the one who loved you
before the money, before the fame.
And that’s a different kind of heartbreak—
not the kind that screams or cries,
but the kind that whispers quietly,
“He left you the moment he could rise.”
I didn’t want your riches,

I just wanted you to remember
I never let you walk alone.
But you climbed without looking back,
and that truth cuts deeper than any lie.
Because I stayed through your lowest lows…
and you left me in mine
without even saying goodbye.
This Poems Story
This story is expressing how someone you was there for through the toughest moments in life, that you loved and cared for so much, you gave your time your trust, your open hand, to offer help, when they needed it the most. Until it finally backfires and you\'d be left stuck far behind. No open hand, the way you opened yours,no open heart either. But you stay and you until you realize that it\'s already too late. your down, way down and there not there, you alone your stuck. So you put on your guards and remember who you are and you give yourself what you did for them and build strength to do this life without them all over again. it\'s good bye.
