Where I Must Go

Now I see where I must go beyond the sand and across the snow
Past fields of doom where darkness looms and haunting ghosts, now I know
Through desolation and sad regret and hatred raging and certain death
Where greed keeps taking and love has died where hope is gone and nothings left

To face my fears every day in every step ‘till I find the girl that up and left me
On and on beyond these demons, and shadow beasts, and further still past dragons deadly
Where life is gone where the dark undead meet and march in place to a dark undead beat
Where they feast on flesh for then the dead eat beyond lost souls; The unrepenting

And then at last I find the light where angels fly on holy wings giving strength to me to fight
And music playing is my heart that beats and the voice of angels and my soul that leaps
Then at last I reach the end and she is there with lips like roses and light in her hair
And jesus comes and makes us one, and we hold and kiss, and then at last my walk is done
