Where I\'m From
I was from tenebrosity,
Where no one is loved
And hatred and guilt run rampant.
I was from resettlement,
Where nowhere is safe,
And no place to call home.
I was from seclusion
Where depression is ruler of all,
And everyone fends for themselves.
But…
I am now from support
Where one feels wanted.
I am now from a place of color
Where no moment is boring
And passion fills the air.
****
I was from foulness
Where mounds reach the ceiling.
I was from emptiness,
Where stomachs yearn to be stuffed,
And religion has no meaning.
But…
I am now from purity
Where yelling is heard,
when clothes litter the floor.
I am now from contentment
Where cupboards are full,
And starvation is like the Latin language to us.
And where my faith veils me.
But where I am from now,
Life has a different connotation.
Where no one is loved
And hatred and guilt run rampant.
I was from resettlement,
Where nowhere is safe,
And no place to call home.
I was from seclusion
Where depression is ruler of all,
And everyone fends for themselves.
But…
I am now from support
Where one feels wanted.
I am now from a place of color
Where no moment is boring
And passion fills the air.
