Wings
The stars are illuminating brighter than usual,
shiny white speckles throughout the sky.
I should be at home, yet instead,
I am here with you.
Conversation grows so loud,
our laughter causing noise complaints.
Those noise complaints come from the birds away in their nests,
as they are put away for slumber.
You are like a white-winged bird,
guiding me as we take flight.
Your angelic voice softly sings a tune,
quiet as we lay in the night.
In admiration, I look at you;
Do my eyes deceive me?
I shake that thought out of my mind,
deciding to leave it be.
The rising sun shines bright on our faces,
waking us up as it blinds our eyes.
It wakes up the birds from their slumber,
the birds who were once quiet in the night.
We hear the sweet angelic tune of their song,
the song that reminds me of you.
shiny white speckles throughout the sky.
I should be at home, yet instead,
I am here with you.
Conversation grows so loud,
our laughter causing noise complaints.
Those noise complaints come from the birds away in their nests,
as they are put away for slumber.
You are like a white-winged bird,
guiding me as we take flight.
Your angelic voice softly sings a tune,
quiet as we lay in the night.
In admiration, I look at you;
Do my eyes deceive me?
I shake that thought out of my mind,
deciding to leave it be.
The rising sun shines bright on our faces,
waking us up as it blinds our eyes.
It wakes up the birds from their slumber,
the birds who were once quiet in the night.
We hear the sweet angelic tune of their song,
the song that reminds me of you.
