Wishes and Tears Wasted on Time

I look up in the sky with blurry eyes
Praying and wishing you'll fly down
I watch the clouds as they pass by
Watching as they change shape and size
The memories start flooding in of the good old times
Us singing and dancing till' our legs gave out
Laying down on the wet ground
Pointing and staring up at the clouds
Me and You making s'mores
Me and you getting bored
A wave sitting still watching the sunset move behind a hill.
Now it's I
Watching butterflies fly by
I sniffle and cry
As I lay a flower where you lie
Sniffling and wishing you were still alive
Roses are red
Violets are blue
But, I had to watch them bury you
As you promised me a life you never got to live through.
Leaving me behind like you always do
Never making your promises true.
