You and I

It’s the way the light filters through my windshield and paints your skin that makes me wonder at your eyes.
I’m just a child.

Maybe you don’t know that you talk to me the way I would talk to myself if I wasn’t me.
I doubt myself.

I discovered the dimple that magically appears when I make you smile or laugh until tears rolls down your cheeks.

Do you doubt this? (you and I)

Did you mean to love the things about me that I secretly love about myself?
Timing is everything.

Can I tell you that I fear getting this wrong just like so many things I’ve gotten wrong before?
Can timing be perfect?

It’s the way you stop my rambling words with that soft chuckle as the last streetlight is extinguished that

tells me
this is enough
