Beautiful World

There are certain things
that can only be described
as the mysteriously warm
and altruistic embrace of the world.

The wind passing through your fingers,
not whipping or whistling,
but gently caressing your existence
on this plain.

The smell of rain,
minerals drifting on the wind,
the subtle reminder of the sagacious soil
beneath your feet.

The birds the morning after
chorally cooing and chirping,
welcoming the brilliance of the sun
for a brand-new day.

You smile,
with a swell of reverie,
at the ineffable beauty
of the world.
