Broken Bond

So far away and long gone,
There goes our broken bond with the falling dawn,
I just don’t want to let go of these feelings for you,
If I could I would give anything for a redo,

I want to stay in your life and hear all about it,
I suppose you don’t feel the same way making it an incomplete fit,
I would never control you or use you like a tool,
With these poems and my words I appear to be the fool,

You’ve always been understanding, loving, and kind,
This would all be so much easier if I could get you out of my mind,
Yeah I can be dramatic a lot of the time,
That’s only because my love for you is greater than a rhyme,

I feel abandoned and tossed aside in truth,
To see you’re moving on wouldn’t take a sleuth,
My confidence is slowly dissipating away,
Who cares what tomorrow brings when I care about today.
