Crossroads
From childhood's dawn, a landscape
scarred and bleak,Where shadows
danced and fragile spirits creaked,
A crossroads loomed, a path of pain
concealed,A heart adrift, a wound that
never healed.A yearning deep, to find
a place to stay, Where belonging bloomed
and chased the gloom away.
Then light appeared, a golden, hopeful gleam,
A tapestry of roles, a cherished dream.
A wife, a mother, sister, daughter true,
A niece, a friend, a bond forever new.
A paradise it seemed, a haven bright,
Where love resided, banishing the night.
A crown of labels, worn with gentle grace,
Reflecting joy upon her hopeful face.
A world complete, a destiny defined,
A sense of self, so beautifully aligned.
She walked with purpose, strength
within her stride,Contentment bloomed,
where shadows used to hide.
But fate, it seems, a cruel twist had in store,
A lurking darkness, knocking at the door.
The crossroads shifted, leading to despair,
A treacherous path, beyond all compare.
Addiction's monster, rising from the pit,
To claim its prey, and cruelly, bit by bit.
Its tendrils crept, insidious and sly,
Ensnaring reason, dimming inner sky.
The labels shattered, scattered on the ground,
The paradise lost, without a single sound.
The loving bonds, now frayed and torn apart,
A broken spirit, a shattered, wounded heart.
Stripped bare of all, she stumbled and she fell,
Into the depths, a living, breathing hell.
Lost and alone, upon the cold, hard street,
Her weary soul, longed for a sweet retreat.
Dark trenches beckoned, a solace
dark and deep,Where death's embrace,
promised eternal sleep.Each breath a
struggle, each moment filled with dread,
Her silent cries, unspoken, unsaid.
A whisper lost, in the echoing night,
A flicker fading, of a dying light.
The crossroads stood, a testament to pain,
A desolate wasteland, drenched in bitter rain.
But even then, when hope seemed lost forever,
A single thread, a chance she might recover.
God heard her plea, a silent, heartfelt prayer,
A whispered hope, adrift upon the air.
He reached his hand, a beacon in the gloom,
To lift her up, and banish all her doom.
The chains that bound her, shattered into dust,
The monster's grip, began to lose its thrust.
Recovery's path, a rutted, winding road,
A journey arduous, a heavy, painful load.
But with each step, a newfound strength arose,
To mend the pieces, and to heal the woes.
The crossroads beckoned, once a place of fear,
Now offered hope, a vision bright and clear.
To reclaim her life, to rise above the past,
To find her worth, and build a love
that's meant to last. The labels changed,
redefined anew,With self-respect
and confidence shining through.
The scars remained, a reminder of the fight,
But etched with strength, a beacon burning bright.
A warrior's heart, reborn from ashes cold,
A story whispered, bravely to be told.
The crossroads now, a symbol of rebirth,
A testament to courage, strength, and inner worth.
The crossroads I walked, though dark and forlorn,
Led me to light where new dreams are reborn.
For in every struggle, in each silent plea,
I found my belonging, I found the real me.
