From My Corner

My father was filling up on booze
My mother decided to take a snooze
But that was her first and last mistake
As I watched from my corner

He started yelling and screaming
For her to stop dreaming
Then smacked her right across the face
As I watched from my corner

My mother fell to the floor
While my father was calling her a whore
She couldn’t stop from bawling
As I watched from my corner

As tears were forming in my eyes
My father looked my way and started to rise
Then started to walk towards me
As I watched from my corner

I tried to rise to my feet
But my dad made me bleed
He smacked me across the face
When I am in my corner

It felt like he beat me forever
He looked like it gave him pleasure
He didn’t stop till my mom whacked him
When I am in my corner

This filled him with anger
He got up and grabbed a hammer
Then started heading towards my mom
As I watched from my corner

The hammer collided with her head
She fell and now is dead
I am petrified with fear
As I watched from my corner

He threw the hammer to the side
Looking deadly satisfied
He walked out of the room
As I watched from my corner

Returning he had a whip in hand
He yelled get up and stand
He turned me around and whipped my back
When I am in my corner

I let out a deadly scream
With tears running down my face like a stream
He yelled to stay standing and not to cry
When I am in my corner

I felt blood trickling down my back
With every whack and crack
I finally couldn’t stand any more
When I am in my corner

I fell to the floor
Then my dad kicked me up against the door
I wept and cried in a ball
When I am in my corner

My father showed no mercy
He was filled with too much furry
He continued to beat me till I was dead
When I am in my corner

If only the neighbors had heard me
Maybe they could have saved me
From my corner
