Gratitude for Nai in the Shadows

By Cashin

I'm grateful for life: the good times, the bad ones,
the ugliness. Walking pass
that cemetery at night is scary, creepy, a little too peaceful.
It makes me question the life
I'm grateful for, just because
the dead tell no lies, but lie there, voiceless, in deafening silence. On some nights, we do just as much while lying in a cold bed,—cold shoulders, cold stares, cold to the touch. I do the best, groping around the dark to find warmth not there, yet love's warmth finds us.
