It\'s Okay to not be okay

The nights are long, the silence speaks
Of love once warm that’s turned to shade.
A heart now broken slowly leaks,
From all the plans we never made.

I wear a smile that isn’t true,
While storms rage on behind my eyes.
I say I’m fine, but if you knew,
You’d hear the ache beneath goodbyes.

It’s not a crime to fall apart,
To mourn the touch that fades like mist.
Each beat still echoes in my heart,
A ghost I never knew I missed.

But healing walks on shattered ground,
With time, the pain will lose its weight.
In tears, a softer strength is found—
It’s okay to not feel okay.

Some mornings feel too sharp to face,
Where memories bleed through the dawn.
You miss the arms, the voice, the place,
But find a way to carry on.

You’ll question why and curse the past,
Rewind each word you never said.
Yet even wounds that seem to last
Will scar, not bleed, as time is fed.

No shame in breaking, none in tears,
No weakness in a soul that bends.
It takes a storm to calm your fears,
And wounds to teach what truly mends.

So feel the grief, don’t turn away,
Don’t rush the nights or fake the light.
Let pain have space, and it will stray—
The dawn still follows every night.

You’re not alone in this dark place,
Though love has gone and left you bare.
The mirror shows a different face,
But you are still so deeply there.

So walk through flames and let them burn,
And rise in ash you didn’t plan.
For every loss, there comes a turn—
It’s okay to not understand.

And when your soul begins to breathe,
No longer drowning in dismay,
You’ll look back gently and believe:
It’s okay to not be okay.
