Love Story

I knew from the moment of our first look,

That I would always love you just like The Notebook.

On our first date I took you to see Twilight,

And it turned into more than just a goodnight bite.

I promise to always please you in fresh kinky ways,

Written in a contract like Fifty Shades Of Gray.

Often mistaken for Romeo & Juliet,

Cause I'd die for you just to protect you from threat.

So if you ever start to stress out and panic,

Remember I'm here for you stronger than Titanic.

Until my dying day I'll be faithful and true,

Just one more thing... P.S. I Love You.

I will give you props for your modern pop culture references. They give your poem relevance. But, honestly, that is really all your poem offers. It lacks virtually everything else necessary to make this art.

  2. Brittney Johnson

The references make it clear on what you are trying to explain. But I think it lacks originality because of it.

  3. Mallorie Brown

The title explains everything. You and your love are just like every other classic romance, strong, powerful, and madly in love.

  4. Silas Mitchell

I think you achieved exactly what you wanted to. The poem fits the title perfectly, and I think it's pretty good

i really love what you were going for here. Great idea, but the execution needs a bit of work. The lines feel a bit wordy. Try focusing very intentionally on each word choice and whether they are necessary. Using "Cause" is also not very formal and can throw serious readers off as well. Great idea, just work a little bit more on the execution and flow! :)

  6. Jack Carter

This poem combines a lot of iconic romantic references, blending classic love stories with more modern ones. The way it captures the intensity and devotion of love, comparing it to The Notebook and Titanic, brings a mix of passionate commitment and humor. The playful tone in lines like “kinky ways” and the contract reference to Fifty Shades of Grey adds a fun, cheeky twist. It’s a heartfelt and entertaining take on the promises of love, with a sweet and final note in the last line.

    Yo

  9. Charlie

The rhyme fits well here, but a little too cliché

  10. Ellen Deems

It was a cute idea but is lacking in flow and originality.

  11. Nova

It feels immature, sadly, which made the middle section all the more uncomfortable.

  12. Victor Alan Blanchard

That was a very sweet poem I wish everyone was like that well done.

  13. Toheeb Clinton Salaudeen

Don't really know what to say here.

  14. Anelise Johnson

    This is awesome

  15. Michaila Stiltner

I like how you referenced movies on your poem.
