My Angels
On thy hand,
There be a glow.
Of memories of long ago
A lantern shines.
Through the night
to bring the light to mine eyes
The light that I had long since forgotten.
Which I wish to watch
Watch it shine upon my life.
Shine so I can see what’s bright.
Bright enough to give me life.
Life in which I choose to live.
Live so my angels may never be forgotten.
Even though I cannot see them.
I feel them near, guiding me to a brighter life.
A life in which there is hope.
Hope for me to be happy.
Happy enough to be filled.
Filled with love and laughter.
Until I hold thee again
May you continue to draw me near
Near to thine light
Thine light which is where you are.
Where I wish I could be
My beautiful angels, I feel you near
My heart tells me when you are close.
My mind remembers the short times we had together.
A time which I wish would have been longer.
Long enough so I could see you grow.
Long enough so that you may know the love of a father.
A father who loves your mother just as she is
All her heartbreak,
All her walls
All the lies she believed about herself.
He healed my heart,
He tore down my walls,
And he helped me to see what I could truly be.
There be a glow.
Of memories of long ago
A lantern shines.
Through the night
to bring the light to mine eyes
The light that I had long since forgotten.
Which I wish to watch
Watch it shine upon my life.
Shine so I can see what’s bright.
Bright enough to give me life.

Hope for me to be happy.
Happy enough to be filled.

This Poems Story
I wrote this poem to help remind me that even though my kids may not be here on earth with me, that they are still near.
Love can do remarkable things. Love conquers all!
