My Struggle
Oh you beasts! You foul spirits
That wrack my brain with ceaseless havoc!
That strike me all the way down to my DNA
With anger and fear.
Try no more you demons of inferno,
For I have placed my heart out of your reach.
No more will I wallow like a pig
In the filthy pits of sorrow and self-pity!
The Lord of Heaven and Earth has spared me
From your beguiling hold!
The muck has been washed from my
Heart, the black veil lifted from my face.
For years upon years I had been shut in
The demons' cage.
The lock was broken, but my pride bound me
Like chains of steel, and I remained.
Try no more you demons of inferno,
For I have placed my heart out of your reach.
This Poems Story
It's about a lifelong struggle of mine, and how I broke free. It makes the most sense if I put it in poetry.
