Of Love’s Deceit, A Heart Laid Bare
In shadows deep where whispers dwell,You turned your heart, a fleeting spell,With tender words, you spoke of love,Yet darkness lingered, like a dove. You promised time, you promised light,But walls you built, shrouded in night,Like enemies we stood apart,Your silence pierced my wounded heart.Tears, like rivers, traced my cheek,Each evening found me feeling weak, I reached for you with trembling hands, But found instead your cold commands.
The tongue that spoke of passion's burning flame, Became the weapon carving out my shame. Each syllable, a shard of sharpened glass, Designed to make my fragile spirit pass Into a shadow where no comfort dwells,A lonely echo in deserted wells. You spoke of effort, of the coming day, When time for us would brightly light the way. "I will come near," the gentle music played, "More time for us, no longer be afraid." A vision painted, beautiful and vast, A future built that surely could not last.In shadowed nights, your words like daggers fall,You speak of love, yet silence wraps the call. With tender vows that dance upon the breeze,You turn away, a storm upon the seas. Once whispered dreams now echo in despair, Promises fade, scattered like the air. You claim to cherish moments spent with me,
Yet distance grows, a vast, unyielding sea. I lay awake, my heart a heavy stone, Tears soak the pillow, aching cries alone. I reach to touch your spirit, find it cold, The warmth of hope now turned to bitter gold. You spun your tales with gentle grace,Yet left me in this lonely space, The mirror showed my fragile soul,A shattered dream that lost control. I called to God, my heart a plea, For peace, for rest, to set me free,But hope, it seemed, had turned away, Drowning in sorrow like a wave. Oh God above, in this consuming blight, Grant me the peace that only ends the fight.Erase the imprint etched within my breast, Let memory find its final, deep unrest. For to continue breathing in this void, This empty space where joy was once enjoyed,
Is worse than silence, worse than fading light; I choose the darkness of eternal night, Than wake again to feel this chilling dread, This hollow place where life itself is dead.
