Pipes of Peace

Who shall save the people of this land
Such a proud nation now a forgotten land
The beat of the drums have all but gone
How could we have been so wrong

They lived long ago a proud and noble race
Many times the soldiers in blue they had to face
Driven from the lands they once did own
Just like their forefathers did also roam

The white settlers built their western town
Upon the Indians sacred hunting ground
Killed and savaged the wild buffalo
The soldiers drove the Indians to the reservation in a steady flow

So now they are but history
But a proud race they will always be
Now in peace they fight for their rights
In an effort to end their plight

Can we not show them we care
Why does life have to be so unfair
Let our children learn about all those famous tribes
Just let them live in peace and stand aside

This Poems Story

It's just a poem about how the Indians were treated so unfairly and were driven from their native land
