Rewind the 90s

I wish it were still the 90s,
When we danced to Marvin Gaye,
When we slept to the sweet serenade of Mariah Carey,
When love stories were as magical as Cinderella's,
Or as tragic as Romeo and Juliet's tale.

When the beauty of the stars truly mattered,
When happiness was wealth,
And not the other way around.
But now, in this world of chaos,
Love is no longer a fairytale.
It’s a story of heartbreaks,
Homicides, suicides, and mistrust.

Love has been reduced to objects,
Degraded and misunderstood.
Sweet letters, tender poems, dismissed as trash,
Picnics and walks, the dates of the destitute.

What can I do now? I must tag along,
And hope this present doesn't steal my soul,
For time machines don't exist,
And my wish remains forever out of reach.
