Solitudes Embrace
In the crevices of night where shadows creep, and whispers of solitude weave through the air,
I wander through alleys of my own making,
each echo a heartbeat, a soft, aching prayer.
The moon hangs like a pendant, heavy and bright,
casting silver on dreams that flicker and fade,
beneath its cold gaze, my secrets unravel,
a tapestry woven in silence and shade.
The walls of my heart pulse with silent screams,
each chamber remembers, yet no one can see
the weight of the whispers, the burdens I carry,
the ghosts that have settled, uninvited, with me.
Loneliness drapes like a moth-eaten cloak,
its fabric a patchwork of sorrow and sighs,
and the laughter of friends feels like distant thunder,
a memory that lingers but fades in the skies.
I stroll through the echo of yesterday’s laughter,
the places where conversations would flow,
but now there’s a stillness that gnaws at my marrow;
the world turns in circles, yet I stand below.
Streetlamps flicker, a Morse code of light,
each pulse a reminder of life passing by,
but the night wraps its arms 'round my solitude,
like a lover who knows how to cradle the lie.
The world outside carries on with its dance,
where lovers entwine, and friendships ignite,
but here, in the stillness, I seek my own solace,
a sanctuary crafted from shadows and light.
The stars overhead, like diamonds on black silk,
twinkle with stories of those who’re aligned,
and yet, I retreat to the depth of the quiet,
where all of my thoughts are meticulously mined.
I sip from the silence, a bittersweet draught,
and ponder the echoes that sweep through my soul,
as the clock ticks away in a lulling refrain,
marking seconds of absence, keeping me whole.
In the heart of this cave, I reclaim my spirit,
each pulse of the void, a reminder to breathe,
for even in darkness, when wrapped in solitude,
there’s a flicker of strength that I’m learning to believe.
So I dance with my shadows, a duet in thrall,
the rhythm composed by the beats of my heart.
Embracing the stillness, I find my own song,
in the quietest corners, I finally start.
For solitude, once a relentless specter,
is now the cocoon in which I begin to unfold,
transforming this silence into something profound
in my aloneness, I discover my gold.
