Thoughts Borrowed

In shadows cast by moonlit sighs,
The whispers of a heart that cries,
A velvet night, so thick with pain,
Where joy has fled like distant rain.

Ghostly echoes haunt the halls,
Where laughter once brightened lonely walls,
Now silence lingers, heavy and cold,
As memories fade, like stories untold.

A withered rose in a glass of dust,
Once touched by love, now crumbles to rust,
Beneath the weight of what once was bright,
A flicker of hope lost to the night.

Dreams unspoken, like restless ghosts,
Drift through the air, an unseen host,
They dance on the edges of fragile despair,
Entwined in shadows, they linger there.

The clock ticks softly, a cruel reminder,
Of moments that pass, of time less kinder,
Each tick a heartbeat that whispers the end,
Each tock a message, no savior to send.

I really like the poem. I would rate this 4. She has a knack for imagery. "A withered rose in a glass of dust, Once touched by love, now crumbles to rust, Beneath the weight of what once was bright, A flicker of hope lost to the night."
