The Dollhouse Closes
Glaze over me
Unpolished figure on a shelf,
Used to be you’re foremost company
Now you give the good times to someone else.
Not a shiny object
No longer sitting on display,
No upgrades to be checked
We’ve seen the night of the day.
Fisher price dreams
Fade the glimmer of the past,
Nothing is as what it seems
I knew our playtime wouldn’t last.
Toy in the attic
Assaulted by the dust,
Our bond has gone static
And I’m choking on the trust.
Soulmates don’t tag a friendly ghost,
Miss you loving me when you loved me the most.
Treehouse treasures you no longer seek to find,
When I was hers and she was mine.
Perched upon your mature stance,
The last merry go round spins
On our last dance.
Simon says throwout the rule,
Nobody wins
When your too school for cool.
Patty cake patty cake
GI Joe man,
Try to keep the doll awake
Now a flash in the pan.
We row row rowed our boat
Quickly down the shore,
Buried in a plastic tote
You won’t play with me anymore.
Unpolished figure on a shelf,
Used to be you’re foremost company
Now you give the good times to someone else.
Not a shiny object
No longer sitting on display,
No upgrades to be checked
We’ve seen the night of the day.
Fisher price dreams
Fade the glimmer of the past,
Nothing is as what it seems
I knew our playtime wouldn’t last.

Buried in a plastic tote
