Voice

When will that voice be silenced?
The voice of a lady
That judges me to be less of a man.
The voice of a man
Looking down at me for crying and calls me a boy.
The voice of a boy
Asking why his mom and dad are fighting.
The voice of mom and dad
Telling me that everything will be alright.

Their voices are so loud.
Clashing and pounding my skull.
They scream and yell for a moment to preach.
They beg to be heard.

Eventually, they're so deafening, and monstrous
So repulsive, and horrid
So atrocious, and vile
And they symphonism
Into a voice with a horrifying cackle
That dares me to smile.

This Poems Story

I read a book of quotes of voices heard by Schizophrenia patients. It was very interesting how personally each of the quotes were to each patient. I was fascinated by how much you could learn about one of the patients just by reading what they\'ve heard.
