War

By Linda

Every day has been a battle.
Not realizing that death could come for us at any given moment.
We used to think that we were invisible.
Ha, how clueless have we been?
We’ve been at war with each other for far too long.
We corrupted our own minds and constantly living in the past.
We’re so caught up in how the world looked down on us.
That we haven’t realized that we started the war between on own race.
Steady pointing fingers and blaming each other.
Death isn’t color blind; it doesn’t choose who to take.

We’re living to die in a world, that only helps create people’s greed for money and power.
Parents killing their kids, kids killing their parents.
Father’s and mother’s killing each other.
When will this WAR end?
When will we open our eyes and see what we’re doing to each other?
Black on black crime, white people racially profiling blacks, and cops killing blacks without any justification.
Like is this what our lives were meant to be, why are we punishing ourselves for what our predecessors have done.
