A breathless chasm, cold and lush.
Time unmakes itself, thread by thread,
Unraveling all the words unsaid.
A silver second slits the air,
Unseams the sun, strips planets bare.
Eons unravel in silent screams,
Dissolving light in liquid dreams.
The pendulum sways, then ceases sway,
Unmoved by dusk, unmarked by day.
Shadows stretch where echoes fray,
Night kneels numb where whispers lay.
A watchman weeps, his hands unspun,
Holding the hour that holds no one.
Ghosts of moments grasp and glide,
Slipping through a wound too wide.
A breathless beat—then none at all,
The stars fold inward, frail and small.
What once was fate is now undone,
A world unwound at zero—none.

Background: \"00:00\" is a meditation on the collapse of time, existence, and memory. The title itself, representing midnight or the reset of a clock, symbolizes both an ending and a beginning, an eternal paradox where past and future dissolve into an abyss of nothingness. The poem explores the fragility of time, portraying it as something unraveling, self destructing, and ultimately ceasing to hold meaning. The imagery of seconds \"slitting the air\" and \"unseaming the sun\" suggests time as an entity that not only measures but also dismantles reality. The watchman, a potential personification of fate, helplessly witnesses time\'s disintegration, unable to preserve the moments slipping away. The poem\'s structure mirrors the disarray it describes, with uneven stanzas reflecting time\'s fractured, nonlinear nature. At its core, \"00:00\" mourns the impermanence of existence. It is a lament for everything lost to time, love, life, history, and meaning itself. The world unspools at the final moment, where fate unfastens, and what once seemed inevitable is revealed to be ephemeral. The final lines encapsulate this existential void, leaving the reader with a lingering sense of haunting finality: a universe unwound, reduced to zero.
