Clairvoyant
Through veils of time, I glimpse the thread,
The future’s whispers softly said.
Each fleeting scene, a phantom's waltz,
A truth that bends through mirrored faults.
The visions flicker, frail and thin,
Like candlelight on trembling skin.
I see the storms before they rise,
Their tempests mirrored in my eyes.
But knowing fate is bitter gain,
A melody that hums with pain.
To watch the world’s impending grief,
Yet hold no power to grant relief.
Still, I persist, a watchful seer,
Each prophecy both curse and mirror.
For knowledge binds as much as frees,
A tether to eternity’s seas.
The future’s whispers softly said.
Each fleeting scene, a phantom's waltz,
A truth that bends through mirrored faults.
The visions flicker, frail and thin,
Like candlelight on trembling skin.
I see the storms before they rise,
Their tempests mirrored in my eyes.
But knowing fate is bitter gain,
A melody that hums with pain.
To watch the world’s impending grief,
Yet hold no power to grant relief.
Still, I persist, a watchful seer,
Each prophecy both curse and mirror.
For knowledge binds as much as frees,
A tether to eternity’s seas.

Background: \"Clairvoyant\" delves into the burden of foresight and the double-edged nature of knowledge. Inspired by the archetype of the seer or prophet, the poem reflects the pain of understanding the future while being powerless to alter it. It also explores the isolation that comes with such insight, as knowledge often alienates and creates internal conflict. Themes of inevitability, destiny, and the limits of human control are interwoven with abstract imagery, creating a sense of both mysticism and melancholy. The poem ultimately raises questions about whether foreknowledge is a blessing or a curse.
