Letter In A Bottle
A bottle drifts through tides of glass,
Its echoes trapped in moments past.
Each wave a whisper, soft, subdued,
The ocean cradles solitude.
Ink bleeds truths on pages torn,
A cry of loss, of hearts forlorn.
The current bears a tale untold,
A hope that dares defy the cold.
It speaks of skies once streaked with fire,
Of dreams unquenched by time's desire.
Yet as it floats, its shell will fray,
A fragile beacon lost to spray.
But still it sails, though storms may rise,
Its script a mirror to the skies.
A letter born of fate and foam,
Forever seeking shores called home.

Background: Theme: Hope and longing carried across time and distance. This poem reflects the timeless act of casting one’s emotions into the unknown, symbolized by a letter in a bottle. It captures themes of isolation, hope, and the human desire to be heard or understood, even if the recipient is undefined. The bottle represents fragility, the ocean symbolizes the vast uncertainty of life, and the letter within serves as a metaphor for the vulnerability of exposing one’s deepest truths. Its reversibility mirrors the endless ebb and flow of life’s tides, where beginnings and ends often circle back on themselves.
