Sky’s Lament
The clouds collapse, their tears are spilled,
A grieving hymn the earth has willed.
Each drop descends in silver streak,
A language only roots can speak.
The rivers rise with quiet grace,
Their currents carve the valley’s face.
And yet, as sorrow floods the land,
It births the blossoms where they stand.
The sky retreats, its sorrow sown,
To cradle life it cannot own.
A grieving hymn the earth has willed.
Each drop descends in silver streak,
A language only roots can speak.
The rivers rise with quiet grace,
Their currents carve the valley’s face.
And yet, as sorrow floods the land,
It births the blossoms where they stand.
The sky retreats, its sorrow sown,
To cradle life it cannot own.
